Review by hotel critic
During our romantic escape to the Surety Hotel, we were thoroughly impressed by its modern charm and excellent service. The hotel's location in downtown Des Moines, just steps from vibrant Court Street, made it an ideal base for exploring local dining delights and the bustling Saturday Farmer's Market. Our room was spacious and elegantly designed, offering a perfect retreat for my fiancée and me, complete with all the thoughtful amenities one would expect from a leading hotel. What truly stood out, however, was the warm hospitality from the staff; from the friendly young woman who quickly fetched us hot water and honey for tea at night to the delightful restaurant staff offering us locally sourced meals, every interaction added to our experience. Although the blue lights from the neighboring building shone through our granddaughter's window, it was a minor hiccup in an otherwise unforgettable stay. If we find ourselves back in Des Moines for the Valais Blacknose sheep show, you can count on us returning to this lovely hotel!
